Training of newly recruited cadet officers to the Sri Lanka Foreign Service
The Kadirgamar Institute conducted a series of lectures for the newly recruited officers of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service. Experts in the fields of Diplomacy, Security, Economics and Politics conducted these lectures, covering a broad spectrum of related issues, while sensitizing the officers to the enormous scope of these diverse fields. The officers continued their training at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) and on a field programme in Hambantota. |

International Conference on Countering Terrorism – 18th, 19th & 20th October 2007
This conference was organized by the Lakshman Kadirgamar in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was held at the BMICH on 18th-20th October 2007. The theme of this conference was ‘Terrorism: A Challenge to Democratically Elected Governments’. It highlighted the challenges posed to democratically elected governments by terrorist movements and provided a forum to discuss the strategies required to counter such threats. |
