The Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training
Institute has been established to promote a knowledge of diplomacy and international affairs in the country. This is done through a number of special Courses the most important of which is the Certificate Course in Diplomacy and International Relations and a number of short courses on different subjects designed to promote a knowledge among the public at large.
The applications are now invited for the 28th intake of Certificate Course on Diplomacy and International Relations to be conducted from Monday 12th October 2009.
COURSE DETAILS
Designed For : Those preparing to join the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, Administrative Service Defence Attaches, Army Staff College, Law College, public and private sector employees, members of the Armed Forces/Police, NGO officers, University undergraduates and school leavers ,.
Duration : 4 Months (from Monday 12th October 2009 to Wednesday 10th February 2010.)
Lectures on : Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Time : 5.30 p.m. – 7.30 p.m.
Course Fees : Rs. 24,000 plus Registration Fee of Rs. 2,400 (Facility to pay in installments)
Only 100 participants will be admitted to the above Course.

The Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute will hold its next Certificate Course in Diplomacy & International Relations during the period May to September 2009 commencing on Monday 18th May 2009. This is the 27th Certificate Course in Diplomacy & International Relations in the series and will include a comprehensive survey of the contemporary global scene in all its salient aspects. This Course should be of special interest to persons engaged in activities connected with interaction and relations with foreign countries. The Course Curriculum comprises of areas such as Diplomacy, Bilateral and Multilateral Relations, International Organizations, Structural Changes in International Society, International Economics, Summitry, Multilateral Trade, Economics, Finance, Security, International Law, International Conferences, Sri Lanka Studies and Rural Development. Classes will be held in the evenings three days a week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The Course fee is Rs. 24,000/- plus Registration fee of 2400/=. DIPLOMA COURSE IN WORLD AFFAIRS & PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMACY ( V) - 2009
The Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute will be inaugurating the Fifth Diploma Course in its programme. This Course will be inaugurated on 26th February 2009 at 5.30p.m. and the Course itself will have a duration of nine months.
The subject matter of the Diploma Course will be in World Affairs and Professional Diplomacy which will be of a high standard and the lecturers will be among the most eminent available in the country. The Diploma Course will consist of 4 Modules on Professional Diplomacy, Peacekeeping, Conflict Resolution and International Law, UN and Other International Organizations, and Sri Lanka Studies, each one lasting around six weeks. The Course itself will be the most intensive available.
The Participants will be selected from those who have obtained the BIDTI General Course Certificate in Diplomacy and International Relations, and others who have at least three A/Level passes. The award of the Diploma will be on the result of written examinations as well as assignments written by the candidates. All these measures are intended to highlight the special character of the Diploma and its value.
Lectures for the Diploma Course will be held on Thursday & Friday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. The venue of the lectures will be the BIDTI Lecture Hall. The Course fee is Rs. 35,000/-. Application forms should be submitted at your earliest.
