Our internship programme provides practical experience to talented individuals who wish to
pursue a career in international affairs and public policy. Depending on their interests and
background, interns may work in one or more of 3 areas: Research; Communications (including on social media); and Programmes (coordinating research initiatives and events).
Applicants would normally be recent graduates or currently enrolled in higher studies. We also consider applications from school leavers with outstanding academic results who have received admission to university. Applicants should be able to write clearly and fluently in English, and preferably also have local or foreign language skills. Attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
To apply, please email a cover letter and CV (listing two referees) to email@example.com. If you are interested in research, please also include a writing sample that shows your ability to think critically and construct a logical argument. We welcome interns with research interests in law, economic development, security, maritime affairs, human rights, gender, and the environment.
Interns normally work for 3-6 months. Full-time interns without external funding receive a modest daily honorarium. Applications from overseas are welcome. However, interns must be Sri Lankan citizens or have an unrestricted right to work in Sri Lanka. We regret that we can only respond to shortlisted applicants, whom we would normally contact within 4 weeks of applying.
